Ronald McDonald House of Greater Las Vegas
Ronald McDonald House Charities of Greater Las Vegas is a non-profit organization that provides temporary housing for families who travel to Las Vegas to receive critical medical treatment for their children. They also supports programs that directly benefit children and families in the Las Vegas area through scholarships, community outreach projects, and the recently opened Ronald McDonald Family Room at Sunrise Children’s Hospital.
Community Outreach of Nevada
Community Outreach of Nevada, born in 2005, is a United Way accredited organization. Since 2005, over 61,800 people have received medical care, and numbers are expected to grow even more with the large amount of non-insured and struggling families in Nevada. They also strive to improve the lives of those patients in urban Las Vegas through kind, compassionate, and uncompromising medical care. From providing medical service to the uninsured/underinsured to helping transition kids through the foster system, doing great work is their goal.
St. Jude’s Ranch for Children
For more almost 50 years, St. Jude’s Ranch has provided a safe, nurturing home with therapeutic residential treatment services to thousands of children in Nevada. It’s making a difference by creating new lives with new hope for abused, abandoned, and neglected children of all races and faiths. St. Jude’s Ranch for Children has three locations in Nevada: the main campus is in Boulder City, located in the foothills overlooking Lake Mead, and the Crossings homeless youth program and Child Focus sibling preservation are in Las Vegas.
CIS (Communities In Schools) Nevada
In the span of a little more than 30 years, Communities In Schools has become the nation’s leading dropout prevention organization. They have a unique model that positions a coordinator inside schools to assess needs and deliver necessary resources that remove barriers to success. Their mission is to surround students with support, empowering them to stay in school and achieve more in life. They serve the most vulnerable students in the most dropout-prone school districts, nearly 1.3 million young people in more than 3,400 schools.
The Foundation for Positively Kids
Positively Kids delivers high quality healthcare services for Southern Nevada children, with an emphasis on providing quality of life for medically fragile and/or developmentally delayed children (birth to 18) and their families. Every day caring and dedicated Positively Kids doctors, nurse practitioners, RN’s, other skilled nurses, therapists, and health coaches help families to understand how they can safely meet the medical and social needs of their children, and provide comfort and support for parents and other family members.
